Highway 61 Revisited / BOB DYLAN
Dylan’s first five albums featured just the man and his guitar. This sixth album is not that. The travelling troubadour returned to the studio with a range of session musicians, a musical director and a new producer. The result is perhaps his best: a culmination of twangy electric guitar, bluesy organ, steady drums, and touches of rockabilly, but still very much steeped in the world of rootsy folk and acidic lyrics. It’s only rock and roll, but I like it.
