A slinky and sultry intro to the artist who pioneered and perfected Ethio-Jazz. Astatke recorded this album on trips to NYC with mostly Cuban and Venezuelan musicians, creating a rich tapestry of sound. This instrumental blend of twinkly vibraphone, organ, flute and horns is as fresh and enchanting today as it was when it was recorded some 50 years ago.
