If this is Stereolab’s catchiest album while being it’s most layered/complex, does that suggest it's their best? The Singsong melodies from Laetitia Sadier and the late great Mary Hansen counteract and interlock over simple strings and minimalist beat-treats. This is a party for jazz heads, mods, bass cadets, retro-furturists and sound seekers.  A pair of ‘open ears’ is the dress code.
